Delta AG Partners Police to Ensure Speedy Justice in Ozoro Crisis
Asaba, March 23, 2026 – In a decisive move to ensure accountability following a recent public disturbance in Ozoro, the Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN, led a delegation to the State Police Headquarters in Asaba on Monday.
A statement by the Commands’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Edafe Bright (ANIPR) stated that the high-level meeting, held at the command’s headquarters, saw the Attorney-General join forces with the Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, psc, to solidify the state’s commitment to a swift investigation and prosecution of those responsible for the incident that sparked widespread public outcry.
Mr. Ohwovoriole, who was received by the CP and the command’s management team, extended the state government’s appreciation to the police leadership for their rapid intervention in restoring peace to the troubled Ozoro area. He assured the police command of the state government’s full support in ensuring that any individuals found culpable face the full weight of the law.
“The state government is committed to supporting the police to ensure diligent prosecution,” the Attorney-General stated, emphasizing that a swift legal conclusion would serve as a strong deterrent against future incidents and, most importantly, ensure that justice is served for all affected parties.
In response, CP Aina Adesola welcomed the partnership and praised the state government for its sustained support in quelling the tensions that had flared up in Ozoro. He reaffirmed the command’s unwavering dedication to preventing a recurrence of the violence, noting that he had personally visited the community to engage with key stakeholders in the aftermath of the crisis.
“I have personally visited the area to engage stakeholders, and I have charged the investigation team to ensure the swift prosecution of those found to be directly involved in this ugly act,” CP Adesola stated. He reassured the public that the command remains resolute in its mission, promising that all identified culprits would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
The meeting underscores a collaborative approach between the state’s judicial and law enforcement arms as they work to bring a swift and transparent resolution to the case.
