AT 60, TINUBU SALUTES ‘LOYAL SOLDIER’ SHETTIMA, HAILS VP AS PILLAR OF RENEWED HOPE

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has showered glowing tributes on Vice President Kashim Shettima as he marks his 60th birthday, describing him as a loyal partner, trusted ally and patriotic public servant whose wisdom, courage and sense of duty have remained invaluable to the administration.

In a State House statement issued to commemorate the Vice President’s birthday on September 2, Tinubu said Shettima had proven himself to be more than just a political associate, but a dependable partner in the task of steering Nigeria towards progress and prosperity.

The President joined the Vice President’s wife, Nana Shettima, their children, family members and political associates in celebrating the milestone.

Tinubu said Shettima’s life had been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice, noting that his journey from the banking sector to the governorship of Borno State and ultimately to the office of Vice President reflected a distinguished record of public service.

“Kashim is not just a trusted ally or a valued colleague, but also a patriot whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice for worthy causes,” the President said.

Tinubu particularly praised Shettima’s unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s unity and progress, as well as his courage and compassion in public office.

He commended the Vice President for his years of service, first as Governor of Borno State and now as the nation’s second-in-command.

According to the President, Shettima has demonstrated diligence and an abiding commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians in every position he has occupied.

Tinubu also singled out the Vice President’s loyalty to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and his unwavering support for the administration and the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The President described Shettima as a critical pillar of the administration, whose partnership and steadfastness had continued to strengthen the government’s efforts to fulfil its promises to Nigerians.

“As a trusted partner, his loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty have remained invaluable to the administration,” Tinubu said.

Tinubu further applauded Shettima’s role as Chairman of the National Economic Council, NEC, where he has been coordinating economic policy and fostering cooperation between the Federal Government and state governments.

He said the Vice President’s commitment to constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation had contributed to strengthening good governance across the country.

The President thanked Shettima for his “steadfast support and partnership,” expressing confidence that both leaders would continue to work together to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“I am confident that working together, we will continue to make meaningful progress in building the Nigeria of our dreams,” Tinubu stated.

As Shettima enters his sixth decade, Tinubu prayed Almighty Allah to continue to guide, protect and strengthen him.

He also prayed that Allah would grant the Vice President wisdom, good health and many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria.
