Obi Pays Tribute as Political Leaders Honour Late Senator Nwaoboshi in Delta
Former Anambra State Governor and presidential aspirant, Peter Obi, joined a host of prominent Nigerians on Friday at the funeral Mass of the late Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, held at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Ibusa, Delta State.
Taking to his X handle to honour the memory of the late lawmaker, Obi described Nwaoboshi as a “distinguished Senator” who diligently served the people of Delta North. He offered prayers for the deceased, asking God to “grant him eternal rest in His kingdom,” while also seeking strength and comfort for his grieving family and all those mourning his passing.
The funeral service drew a significant gathering of political and community leaders, underscoring the late senator’s influence and years of dedicated service to his constituency.
Among the notable dignitaries present were Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and his deputy, Sir John Onyeme. The occasion also brought together former Governors James Ibori and Ifeanyi Okowa, alongside serving and former members of the National and State Assemblies, who converged to pay their last respects to the late senator.
