APC Releases 2027 Primary Election Timetable, Costs

Presidential ticket to be decided May 15–16

ABUJA — The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its schedule for party primaries, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The timetable aligns with INEC’s April 23 to May 30 window for party primaries.

Key dates:

· President: May 15–16
· State assemblies: May 21
· National Assembly: May 28–30

Form fees:

· President: ₦100 million
· Governor: ₦60 million
· Senate: ₦20 million
· House of Reps: ₦10 million
· State assembly: ₦6 million

President Bola Tinubu, holding right of first refusal, is expected as sole aspirant. His nomination will follow either consensus or direct primary, per the Electoral Act 2026.

Chairman Prof. Netanwe Yilwatda said consensus remains the party’s first choice. Discounts of 50% on nomination fees apply to women, youth, and PWDs.

Primaries will be skipped in seven states with off-cycle elections: Osun, Ekiti, Ondo, Bayelsa, Kogi, Anambra, and Imo.
