APC Suspends Delta Commissioner Charles Aniagwu Over Alleged ‘anti-Party Activities’

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 7, Ika North East Local Government Area, has suspended Mr. Charles Aniagwu, the Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, over allegations of gross misconduct and anti-party activities.

The suspension, effective immediately, was confirmed in a formal letter signed by Ward Chairman Chukwuka Ojinji, Vice Chairman Ambrose Okafor, and Secretary Magboma Confidence.

Citing Article 21 of the party’s amended constitution, the APC accused Aniagwu of engaging in illegal party activities, making unilateral decisions without the ward chairman’s approval, and endorsing an illegal consensus Executive Committee list for Ward 7.

The party further alleged that Aniagwu had worked against the party’s interests and candidates, and had actively undermined the leadership of the APC despite holding no executive position.

“As a member of APC, you are expected to uphold the party’s constitution, rules, and decisions. Your actions are deemed to be in breach of these obligations,” the letter read.

The suspension bars Aniagwu from all party activities, prohibits him from using party symbols, logos, or platforms, and bans him from attending any APC meetings or events pending the outcome of an investigation.

A disciplinary committee is expected to be constituted to probe the allegations. Aniagwu will be formally notified of the hearing date and afforded the opportunity to defend himself, according to the party leadership.

As of press time, Aniagwu has not issued a public response to the suspension.
